St. John’s, NL – Rutter Inc. has confirmed that they will supply Teekay Offshore with multiple sigma S6 Ice Navigator™ radar systems and WaMoS®II Wave and Current Measurement systems for use on three newbuild shuttle tankers slotted to service the Hibernia, White Rose, Hebron, and Terra Nova oil fields.
The shuttle tankers, which will be used primarily for loading crude, will operate out of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Teekay, an international provider of marine services and solutions to the offshore industry, will be the sole supplier and operator of shuttle tanker services for East Coast Canada. Rutter will supply three ice navigation & management and wave & current monitoring systems, one for each newbuild vessel. The keel for the first shuttle tanker newbuilding was laid on February 15, 2017 at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Korea. The three vessels are scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018.
